Diebold Earns Top Honors as CSAA Central Station of the Year

Diebold Inc.’s monitoring center in Uniontown, Ohio, has added another award to its trophy case after being named the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) 2011 Central Station of the Year. Diebold is the first repeat winner of the annual award, having previously won in 2007.

Diebold’s monitoring center serves as an extension of a customer’s security operations by monitoring a variety of security and energy-related systems, including video and access control systems, data networks and other items to help mitigate risk to physical and logical assets. These solutions help customers reduce costs, streamline operations and increase customer shareholder value.

The CSAA is a trade association representing companies offering CSAA-approved monitoring services. It honors top-performing companies and professionals for attaining a distinct level of professionalism, as well as making significant contributions to the security industry.

“Diebold’s monitoring and business philosophy is based on people, process and technology to ensure customer security and satisfaction,” said Charles E. Ducey Jr., executive vice president, North America operations, Diebold. “Our monitoring center goes above and beyond traditional security measures to offer solutions to address our customers’ complete monitoring needs. Earning the Central Station of the Year award for a second time is a testament to our continued investment in employees, certifications and advanced monitoring technology.”

Diebold’s monitoring center is Five-Diamond certified by the CSAA and is UL, ULC and ULCRZM certified by Underwriters Laboratories. It is among the first centers to earn UL certification as a National Industrial Security Monitoring Station, which certifies the center to deliver alarm monitoring services to the U.S. government.

“The most critical aspect of our business involves recruiting, qualifying and retaining quality employees. Diebold employees participate in continuous training and career development to advance the quality of their work, increase employee morale and cultivate teamwork,” said Bob Carfolo, central station operations manager, Diebold. “Our dedicated team is surely one of the primary reasons we received the CSAA award.”

Beyond its two-time Central Station of the Year distinction, Diebold’s monitoring center is no stranger to awards. It received a 2010 Call Center Excellence Award from the International Quality & Productivity Center. In addition, Frost & Sullivan named Diebold the North American Commercial Monitoring Company of the Year in 2009 and 2010, as well as the Physical Security Systems Integrator of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

In addition to its Ohio location, Diebold operates monitoring centers in Hawaii and Mexico. Collectively, the centers provide service to sites located in the continental United States, Latin America, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Pacific Islands. The Diebold Advanced Dealer Program also provides another distribution channel by enabling pre-certified security dealers to leverage its monitoring services.
