Rutherford Controls’ Owner/HR Director to Retire

Rutherford Controls Int’l Corp. (RCI), a global, privately held organization established in 1923, providing the security, locksmith, architectural hardware and OEM markets with electrified locking solutions, announces the retirement of one of its owners, Tracey Rutherford, director of human resources, effective Aug. 31.

RCI has evolved from a small regional family business to an international designer and manufacturer during Rutherford’s 30-year career.

In 1990, Rutherford relocated to the United States in her role as director of operations and was actively involved in opening the Virginia Beach facility, where she continued to work and reside for 15 years. In 2005, she returned to Canada and eventually became the director of human resources, where she successfully implemented HR strategies to improve employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Rutherford looks forward to pursuing her passions; spending her time volunteering with local charities, playing more golf and traveling around the world.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
