Pivot3 Names Olivier Thierry New Chief Marketing Officer

Pivot3 Inc., a provider of unified storage and compute infrastructure, announced that Olivier Thierry has been named chief marketing officer. Thierry is responsible for the oversight of all the company’s global marketing activities including product management, marketing, marketing communications and go-to-market initiatives with partners and channels. He assumes the role from Co-Founder Lee Caswell, who has been appointed chief strategy officer. Thierry reports to Pivot3 President and CEO Bob Fernander.

"Olivier is a strong leader and world-class marketer with deep experience in building brands, establishing partnerships and driving market share in the enterprise IT markets," said Fernander. "His experience in modern enterprise software makes him particularly attuned to the needs of our current customer base as well as our rapidly growing customers in the virtualized IT and cloud market. We're delighted to have him join our all-star team and help us execute on our strategic vision and business goals."

Thierry is a focused marketing executive with expertise in a variety of product areas including systems and network management, applications development and middleware. Most recently, he served as chief marketing officer for Zenoss, a provider of management software for physical, virtual and cloud-based IT infrastructures. During his tenure at the company, he spearheaded its successful entry into the cloud and virtualization markets. Previously, Thierry was CEO of Fiveruns Corp. and senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Alliances at NetIQ where he was involved at taking a company from an early start-up to a large, publicly traded, software company. He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a joint major in marketing, and computers and systems from McGill University.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the top-notch team at Pivot3,” Thierry said. “This company provides a breakthrough unified storage and computing platform that is miles ahead of anything the market has seen. We’re in a white-hot market and I look forward to letting the world get to know just how compelling and unique Pivot3 solutions are.”

Thierry joins a growing and seasoned executive management team tasked with building adoption for the Pivot3 product portfolio in new and existing markets. As founder and chief strategy officer, Caswell will be responsible for keeping Pivot3 at the forefront of industry technology trends by developing key industry and technology alliances. Earlier this year, the company appointed Deb MacCallum as vice president of engineering; Curt Wittich as vice president of sales and Katy Murray as chief financial officer. The experienced leadership team strengthens the company’s long term plans to expand into new markets and continue to double sales year after year.
