Sourcefire Appoints New Member to Board of Directors

Sourcefire Inc., a provider of intelligent cybersecurity solutions, announced that Charles E. Peters Jr., chief financial officer of Red Hat Inc., has joined its board of directors as an independent director, effective July 26, 2011.

"With over 30 years of financial leadership, including 20 years in publicly traded companies like Red Hat and Burlington Industries, Charlie will be a tremendous asset to our company as we continue to drive innovation for our customers and capture our expanding market opportunity.”

Peters has served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Red Hat Inc. since 2004. Prior to joining Red Hat, from 1995 to 2003 Peters held the position of chief financial officer with NYSE-listed multi-national Burlington Industries Inc. From 1991 to 1995, Peters was senior vice president finance at Boston Edison Company, a NYSE-listed electric power company serving the Boston area. Prior to that, he served as chief financial officer at GenRad Inc., a NYSE-listed multi-national manufacturer of automatic test equipment. Peters began his career with Price Waterhouse in 1973, serving in Boston and London in the audit division. Peters is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts as well as a Master of Science in finance from Bentley College.
