Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies Announces New Smartphone App

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a leading global provider of security and safety solutions and manufacturer of Schlage contactless smart credentials and readers, announced today that it now offers a smartphone app that supports customers, integrators, dealers and installers at the jobsite.  The smartphone app provides access to Schlage “How-To” videos from YouTube, Install and User Guides and datasheets for the Schlage AD-Series and CO-Series locking systems.  Customers can even call the Customer Care Center directly from the app.  The free applications are available for iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones.

“Instead of trying to find the right person to call or becoming frustrated with searching, users of these apps can get the information they need on the Schlage AD-Series and CO-Series locking systems directly from their smartphones,” explains Raj Venkat, vice president, marketing for Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies.  “Having these apps available on their iPhone, iPad or Android will help them work more flexibly, independently and efficiently.”

The app is available for free by visiting the App Store or Android Market and searching for “Schlage.”  With the app, users can then download the information needed, whether how to change the lock handing, upgrade a standalone, offline AD-Series locking system into a wireless networked lock or how to migrate a credential reader from proximity to a smart card.

Only just announced to its channel partners, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies is already averaging over 25 downloads a day with installs from 13 different countries on five continents.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
