Samsung Techwin IP Cameras Integrated with QNAP Technology

QNAP Security recently announced today the successful integration of a series of Samsung Techwin network cameras with the VioStor NVR (Network Video Recorder) series.  Combining the strengths of QNAP VioStor NVR series such as high performance hardware platform with excellent data processing power, user-friendly interface, and award-winning data storage technology, with the new addition of being compatible to Samsung Techwin's network cameras, this new combination offers new possibilities to the market.
Retailers who use full HD displays and other professional users in the industrial, educational and government sectors, who would typically need to monitor over 100 IP cameras, have a new, reliable solution to choose from.

Benefits provided by QNAP VioStor NVR series include:

  • Full range of NVRs available from 2-drive entry-level to 8-drive professional models, 4-40 channels H.264, MxPEG, MPEG-4 and M-JPEG recording, and CPU performances from consumer to enterprise level.
  • Dynamic E-map and multi-server monitoring (up to 128 IP cameras)–Users can pinpoint the position of each IP camera on a multi-layered digital map, receive instant notification of alerts, and view the corresponding IP camera immediately by direct clicking the camera icon on the E-map.
  • High definition local display (available with VioStor NVR Pro series)–The NVR is compatible with widescreen HDMI monitors and TVs of different resolutions, up to 1920 x 1080 pixels, for local video and audio monitoring.  Users can quickly play the videos using only a USB mouse and a monitor connected to the VioStor NVR.

"QNAP and Samsung both have many years of experience in developing network-based products and solutions for the surveillance industry.  We are pleased with the seamless integration of the VioStor NVR series with the world-class IP cameras from Samsung," said Andrew Yu, Product Manager at QNAP Security.  “Regardless of the level of security system needed, users can now flexibly plan their surveillance structure within their requirements and budget.  In addition, we are launching the VS-8040 Pro VioStor NVR for users looking for megapixel and full HD surveillance solutions.  The VS-8040 Pro will be the world's first Linux-based NVR with Intel Core i3 processor, 360 Mbps throughput, and supports multi-channel full HD local display.”

"We are pleased to have established technology partnership with QNAP Security," said John Fisk, IP Product Manager of Samsung Techwin Europe Limited.  "The Samsung and QNAP technical teams have worked closely together to ensure that our mutual customers will maximally benefit from the integration.  They will be delighted to find new gains from a video surveillance system incorporating both Samsung IP cameras and domes, including the latest HD megapixel ranges, and a QNAP recording solution.”
