Samsung Announces Mobile App Providing Remote Access to Video

Samsung Techwin America announces availability of the new iPOLiS Mobile app for remote video viewing of Samsung's iPOLiS network video cameras and DVRs using either the iPhone or Android mobile platforms. Users may download the app by searching the App Store or marketplace for “iPolis.”

The new iPOLiS mobile app enables viewing of live video and basic PTZ control and is compatible with Samsung network video surveillance cameras as well as several four/eight/16-channel Samsung DVRs running version 1.06 firmware.

“We are excited to announce our new mobile app that puts access to video from Samsung's cameras and DVRs literally in users' hands,” said Frank De Fina, Samsung senior vice president of sales and marketing, North America. “Mobile access to video affords numerous useful security and operational benefits to our video surveillance customers, and this capability greatly expands the overall functionality of Samsung video systems. The possibilities are endless. ”

Samsung iPOLiS DVRs compatible with the new mobile apps are the SRD-470D (four-channel), SRD-850DC and SRD-870DC (eight-channel); and SRD-1650DC and SRD-1670DC (16-channel) running version 1.06 firmware.
