The Jones Group Expands Access Control Management

The Jones Group Inc., home to popular retail brand Nine West, is known as designer, marketer and wholesaler of brandedapparel, footwear and accessories, but recently deployed Brivo ACS WebService in many ofits facilities and is continuing to roll out Brivo access control management toother company properties. Protection One, Fire and Security Services, and Peaceof Mind Security have all provided integration and installation expertise onthis on-going project.
The retail giant began installing Brivo in 2008 and now has cloud-basedaccess control installed in six of its New York City facilities, a facility in Pennsylvania, and another in California, among others. Jones also has plans to expand the Brivoaccess control management system to include its office facility in WhitePlains, N.Y., and a number of distribution centers as well. Jones will soon beginintegrating video surveillance into its Brivo system.

“Wechose Brivo because we wanted a remote, web-based system that would enable usto control multiple locations at once," said Brian David, security manager for The Jones Group. "One of our goals is to unite all of our brandsby creating a strong and secure global badge, a consistent form of identificationthroughout the company.  Unlike aproprietary system, the technology in Brivo’s web-based system allows us tominimize the number of personnel we need devoted to security, and in turnenables us to be a more efficient and secure company.”

Jones uses Brivo's ACS WebService to manage approximately 225 doors, which will increase as other buildings are brought on-line.  In New York City alone, the company relies on Brivo to secure 25 floors in several different buildings.

“Installation of Brivo technology has resulted insubstantial savings and has given The Jones Group the ability to run multiplereports to view all activity in the company’s facilities, and to look forpatterns which may suggest something is amiss,” said John Szczygiel, BrivoEVP. “The staff also utilizes the system’s alert feature to notify them abouttemperature fluctuations, power failures, and other critical events for whichthey want immediate information.”
