Platinum Tools Unveils Snap Shot SSTDR

Platinum Tools recently announced that it will debut the new Snap Shot fault finding/cable length measurement TDR at 2012 ISC West.

“Today’s security, electrical, data, voice and video signal carrying systems can be incredibly complex,” said Lee Sachs, Platinum Tools Inc. president and general manager. “Working in real time has become a must to keep these systems up-and-running. With the Snap Shot, the field technician can work much quicker and more accurately. Snap Shot can measure attached working data lines, electrical cable runs, and live coax systems for run lengths, and to see if there are any existing electrical faults while the cable is in use and under power.”

Utilizing an advanced form of Spread Spectrum Time Domain Reflectometry that allows its use over energized cables, Snap Shot TDR accurately detects, locates and identifies fault conditions such as opens, shorts, and arc faults on energized cable of all types up to 3,000 feet in length.

Made in the U.S.A., large backlit LCD display clearly shows lengths in both feet and/or meters with an accuracy of better than one percent for pinpointing any fault or condition. Dual internal memory allows users to store cable parameters for easy reference, while a built in tone generator with multiple tone capabilities trace found faults.

  • A8V MIND

    A8V MIND

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
