BankNewport Implements TeleSign Two-Factor Authentication

TeleSign, a company that works to prevent Internet fraud, has implemented its tokenless Two-Factor Authentication at BankNewport. The authentication will secure online customer account access and will provide stronger security for online accounts by using a phone to identify online banking customers' identities.

In addition, the authentication should protect accounts from phising, pharming and malware. when someone attempts to log in to the system from an unknown device, TeleSign send a one-time verification code to the user's mobile phone or landline.

“Social engineering has made the answers to challenge questions widely available and easy to find. We wanted to give customers an extra layer of security without comproBankmising user experience, said said Sonia Williams, BankNewport e-commerce assistant manager. "TeleSign's easy integration of two-factor authentication has already reduced our help desk costs and given users confidence that they can securely log in to their bank account and securely complete transactions."
