Louisiana Port Commission Installs BRS Labs' Advanced Video Analytics

The Greater Lafourche Port Commission, which works to improve Port Fourchon's security and emergency response preparedness, has implemented BRS Labs' advanced video analytics application to work with its existing video surveillance system.

The system sends first responders alerts as they happen so that responders can respond in real time. It should help lower response times.

The port commission has a Maritime Domain Awareness System that allows local, state and federal agencies like Harbor Police, Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, GOHSEP and the Coast Guard to collaborate effectively and become more proactive.

A security firm, Crescent Guardian, helped the commission integrate video analytics into its video management system.

The new, combined system has disparate data sets, incident management, what if? analysis, CCTV integration, video analytics and alerting integration.
