Object/Video Signs Global Patent License With Vivotek

Object/Video, an innovator of intelligent video software, has signed a global patent license agreement with VIVOTEK, provider of IP-based surveillance solutions.

"We are pleased to have reached this global agreement with VIVOTEK. It covers our complete portfolio of intellectual property and is applicable to a wide range of products, including network cameras, encoders and servers," said Raul Fernandez, CEO of ObjectVideo. "We are fully committed to continued innovation, the licensing of our patents and software, and the protection of our inventions."

Owen Chen, chairman of VIVOTEK, said using intelligent devices in the IP surveillance industry is critical.

"We have been planning to implement video analysis on various models from each product line," Chen said. "With these innovative algorithms available on our cameras, VIVOTEK would be able to provide even more complete and effective surveillance solutions to benefit all members of the security industry."

Earlier this year, ObjectVideo entered into portfolio-wide global patent licensing agreements with Tyco Security Products' American Dynamics business unit and Sony Corporation. ObjectVideo holds 47 United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and International patents, along with 49 USPTO and International patents pending in the field of computer vision.
