ITT Exelis to Provide Cyber Solutions Development for U.S. Air Force

ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has been awarded the Agile Cyber Technologies (ACT) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The award has a potential value of up to $300 million over the life of the five-year task order-based contract. Exelis is one of three large business prime contractors to receive an ACT award; three small prime business contractor awards were also made.

The contract will support rapid research, development, prototyping, demonstration, evaluation, and transition of cyber solutions for military program offices and the Department of Defense (DoD) operational community. The work includes a broad spectrum of services covering the development and fielding of cyber solutions to support customer requirements.

“The Exelis team is poised to help solve the government’s toughest cyber security problems through a partnership with AFRL that will benefit both operational customers and the science and technology communities,” said David Fastabend, vice president of ITT Exelis Advanced Information Systems business. “Supporting our national security objectives by providing the right tools and technology to our government remains a top priority.”

The ACT contract is issued by AFRL, which serves as a vital link in the transition of advanced scientific and technical solutions for operational communities across the DoD, Intelligence agencies and coalition partners. The Exelis team is comprised of 16 small businesses, two academic institutions, and 13 large companies. Work will primarily be performed in Rome, N.Y.
