Winsted Limited Seeing Increase in Sales

Leading control room furniture manufacturer Winsted Limited is celebrating winning a coveted Queens Award for Enterprise. Winsted’s success follows its exceptional achievement in the International Trade category, with an overall increase in overseas sales of 82 percent over the past three years.

The highly prestigious Queen’s Awards are bestowed annually by HM the Queen to honor outstanding companies and encourage the development of British business, and are conferred for the highest levels of excellence demonstrated in each category. Eligibility is also based on strict performance criteria.

“Despite the tough current economic times, we are extremely proud to have successfully entered and grown new markets,” comments Terry Shough, Winsted’s General Manager. “We are also delighted to be accepting our Queen’s Award during this very special Diamond Jubilee year. Our achievement reflects the hard work put in by the whole Winsted team over a long period, as well as our range of innovative, high quality products.”

The news follows hard on the heels of Winsted’s certification to the ISO14001 environmental management standard, demonstrating the company’s ‘green’ credentials through its commitment to eco-friendly operations. It also builds on the company’s existing ISO9001 quality management system certification.

Winsted’s investment-based strategy is ongoing, focusing on improvements that deliver tangible contributions towards customer service benefits. “Through our ongoing commitment to product innovation and providing excellent customer service, we’re optimistic of building the Winsted brand even further,” Shough adds.

Winsted designs, manufactures, assembles and installs specialist control room furniture -- such as consoles, monitor walls and digital desks -- for a range of business sector customers in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. These include the security, broadcast, air traffic, oil and gas, rail transport and power generation industries, as well as organizations in the utilities, emergency services/civil contingency and prisons sectors.
