L 3 Security and Detection Systems eXaminer EDS Receives Certification

L-3 Security & Detection Systems (SDS) announced that its eXaminer 3DX and 3DX-ES explosives detection systems (EDS) have been certified by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA). These are the first systems to pass the TSA’s new, rigorous, certification standard.

“This critical advance will continue to allow customers to screen for a wide range of new, emerging threats as part of an ongoing commitment to passenger safety,” said Thomas M. Ripp, president of L-3 Security & Detection Systems. “We deeply value our long-standing relationship with the TSA and have made a significant investment in working with TSA officials to equip our systems with capabilities that adapt to an ever-changing, threat environment.”

L-3 SDS has a comprehensive portfolio of internationally recognized explosives detection systems approved by TSA, ECAC and other global regulators. L-3’s standard EDS solutions provide continuous flow CT technology using advanced, automatic explosives detection technology and offer some of the lowest false alarm rates in the industry. From light- and reduced-size to medium- and high-speed systems, the eXaminer family accelerates the movement of passengers and bags.
