Nominations for SIA Board of Directors

Nominations for SIA Board of DirectorsThe SIA Nominating Committee has recommended the following individuals to serve as members of the SIA Board of Directors, with a two-year term that commences November 2013.

This slate will be elected by the SIA Membership at "The Advance! SIA Annual Meeting" held at ISC East at the Javits Center in New York, N.Y., on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

The five nominees are:

Pat Comunale, Chief Executive Officer and President, TRI-ED Distribution
Pat Comunale has more than 25 years of extensive experience in the security industry holding senior-level leadership roles in both manufacturing and distribution. In 2005, Pat was part of the management team that acquired TRI-ED from Tyco. Over the next 5 years, under his successful leadership as chief operating officer (COO), TRI-ED experienced double-digit growth and acquired multiple regional distributors. TRI-ED merged with Northern Video Systems in 2010, and he took on the role of president and COO. In 2012, Pat was named as TRI-ED's President and CEO.


Timothy P. Eckersley, President, Commercial Americas, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies
Tim Eckersley, a 25 year veteran in high growth technology industries, is Ingersoll Rand's president of Commercial Americas. Eckersley is responsible for the profit and loss for all commercial products and channels in the Americas for the Security Technology sector. He is also accountable for the development and execution of new business strategies and is sharply focused on delivering innovative new products and services to the security marketplace. Tim brings a wealth of experience in general management, sales, product portfolio management, major technology partnerships, and strategy within the electronics and telecommunications industries.


Jeannine Lane, Vice President and General Counsel, Life Safety, Honeywell International
Jeannine Lane is the vice president and general counsel of the Life Safety business of Honeywell International. She is responsible for the global legal affairs of the Life Safety business, which includes fire systems and sensors, gas detection and safety products. Prior to holding this position, Jeannine most recently served as vice president and general counsel of the Honeywell Security business, where she worked in the intrusion, access, CCTV and connected home arenas.


Ted Milburn, Vice President of Marketing, Cooper Notification
Ted Milburn, a recognized mass notification solutions industry expert, is the vice president of marketing for Cooper Notification, the leading provider in life-safety notification and mass notification systems for college campuses as well as commercial and military applications. A 35-year veteran in the life-safety market as technology leader, educator and executive, Ted is a talented speaker and has made presentations at key conferences and association meetings, including the National Fire Protection Association, National Systems Contractors Association, ASIS International and Automatic Fire Alarm Association. He has written numerous articles for such publications as Campus Safety, Security Technology Executive, Commercial Building Products and IACLEA.


Steve Shapiro, Vice President, Product Solutions, ADT
Steve Shapiro is the vice president of product solutions for ADT, a leading provider of home and small business security and automation solutions in the United States and Canada. Steve drives product strategy and engineering for an extensive portfolio of ADT products, including the company's revolutionary smart home automation system, ADT Pulse Interactive Solutions, as well as all intrusion systems, fire systems, home health care systems and communications systems. In his role, Steve is responsible for specifying, evaluating and developing new products, technologies and services.
