G4S Technology Chosen to Deploy Second Phase of Critical Infrastructure

G4S Technology has been selected for the deployment of Phase II in a multi-million-dollar contract with world-leading energy company, Iberdrola USA (IUSA), to achieve a comprehensive, multi-layered, integrated physical security solution that meets all present and future NERC CIP 5 requirements. G4S led the completion of Phase I of the project, and will now focus on upgrading video and card access control across IUSA’s three operating companies.

IUSA, a subsidiary of parent company, Iberdrola S.A., provides renewable and thermal electricity generation, electricity transmission and distribution, natural gas storage and distribution and renewable energy operations and energy services to 24 states across the U.S. The company’s three main business units include Iberdrola USA Networks, Inc., which safely delivers natural gas and electricity to nearly three million customers in the New England area; Iberdrola Renewables, the renewable energy division of Iberdrola S.A. with the largest renewable asset base of any company in the world; and Iberdrola Energy Holdings, which serves as one of the top independent gas storage operators and gas traders in the country.

Per the terms of its multi-year Master Services Agreement (MSA) with IUSA, G4S Technology has been selected to complete video implementation for the remaining Phase I sites, including service of the VMS and AMAG Symmetry ACS systems for the next three years. G4S Technology will continue to support IUSA’s recent security initiatives to expand upon its video and card access deployments across the organization’s critical assets. This will include other initiatives under Iberdrola Renewables across the country, based on IUSA’s threat-based assessments and tiered security approach.

“G4S Technology has proven to be a supportive, reliable and innovative technology partner for Iberdrola USA, serving to realize our vision of intelligent, quality service to our broad customer base,” said Keri Glitch, CSO for Iberdrola USA.

“G4S Technology truly values this expanded partnership with Iberdrola USA.  As we achieve the objectives of this second contract, our focus is – first and foremost – to fully meet IUSA’s widespread security needs, and maintain IUSA’s commitment to quality of service and peace of mind for their customers across the country,” said Sam Belbina, president of G4S Technology. “Over the next three years, G4S Technology will deliver IUSA the most intelligent, reliable, and fully scalable security platforms that will enable them to not only meet, but exceed all government mandates, and solidify themselves as a true leader in the energy and utility industry.”
