iluminar to Launch all-new 2 Series LED Range

Following a substantial development program, iluminar, the manufacturer and supplier of infrared (IR) and white light illuminators, will show their all-new ‘2 Series’ range of LED lighting products at ISC West in Las Vegas, April 15th-17th.

Totally redesigned from the ground-up, this new, next-generation series of IR and white light illuminators offer the high-performance synonymous with iluminar products. And, to ensure they can cope with any outdoor environment, utilize a totally new vandal-proof, IP67-rated enclosure.

Available now, the enhanced design of iluminar’s 2 Series products offer superior all-round performance, uses fewer LED’s  and has a new high transmittance front cover design - to aid better light dispersion vs. previous models.

This next-generation iluminar technology will be employed throughout the entire 2 Series range, with all models featuring the very latest high-efficiency Osram LED’s and an integrated cable for power and telemetry, eliminating the need for the separate interface cable. Available range options will include a choice of either low-voltage or PoE input power (up to 52W), and Remote Control (sold separately), to enable the control of photocell, timing, and light output. In addition, IP addressable models will also be available, allowing the control of LED light intensity, photocell, and timer functions.

Commenting on the totally new 2 Series range, Mrs. Eddie Reynolds, president and CEO of iluminar, said, "iluminar is well known for supplying great illuminators. Now, we believe the best just got even better, with new IP67-rated enclosures, choice of low voltage/PoE input power, and IP network controlled, offering professional installers an in-depth choice of high-performance products.”

Visitors to ISC West can see the all-new iluminar 2 Series range of LED illuminators at the Altronix booth #18071, and the Dotworkz booth #9134.

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
