FIBARO Motion Sensor Wins First Prize

FIBARO intelligent home automation systems announced that its Motion Sensor received a first prize in the 2015 International Design Awards (IDA) in the Home Interior Products category.

The IDA honorary juries examined over 1000 entries submitted by architects and designers of interiors, fashion, products and graphics from 52 countries throughout the world. Parameters for the awards included design, creativity, usability and innovation. All winners receive publication of their work in the International Design Awards Book of Designs.

The FIBARO Motion Sensor is a highly advanced wireless device with a built-in motion sensor, temperature sensor, light sensor, and accelerometer. With a diameter of less than 44 millimeters (under 1-3/4 inches), it is the smallest device of its kind in the world.

Designers were inspired by the pupil of a cat’s eye and its quick reactions; sensitivity and field of vision are all encompassed in this compact device. The FIBARO Motion Sensor incorporates four practical functions:

  • Detects the slightest motion (with the ability to adjust sensitivity);
  • Informs the user of the temperature level;
  • Informs the user of light intensity; and
  • Detects any changes in device movement (vibration), alarming the user of any attempt at tampering.

This product is part of an intuitive and affordable smart home system called FIBARO that is able to control 95% of all home devices.  The system can be easily managed by saying a few simple words (thanks to remote voice control), or through taps on the user's smartphone or tablet.
