OnSSI Expands Ocularis Training Schedule

OnSSI has released their Ocularis v5.0 training schedule for Summer 2015, expanding their slate of training programs to deliver greater value to both partners and end-users. OnSSI offers a range of on-line and in-person trainings in locations around the US and abroad to complement their advanced VMS systems.

“Our comprehensive programs offer training and best practices that will help both our business partners and their customers, our end-users, confidently manage, install, utilize and maintain the new Ocularis 5.0 product line,” said Diane Jecker, department manager of Technical Writing and Educational Training, OnSSI. “Our ongoing objective is to serve our community by bringing as much value as possible alongside our technology offerings.”

Two types of training are available to help OnSSI’s partners and customers enhance their skill sets as needed. A three hour educational webinar is offered for recent alumni who are certified in Ocularis but would like to learn about the new recording components that are part of the 5.0 release. The in-person three day certification training provides a comprehensive look into Ocularis’ 5.0 suite of products and provides hands-on instruction on the knowledge and skills needed to support the software.

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
