Officials Say Technical Glitch in Sandra Bland Dashcam Video to Blame, Not Editing

Bland was found dead in her jail cell three days later.

Authorities have now said that a technical glitch, not intentional editing, caused some of the clipping in the dashcam video of the arrest of Sandra Bland in Texas, who was found hanged in her jail cell three days later.

According to a report, Tom Vinger, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety, blamed a “technical issue during posting.”

The video shows a police officer and Bland arguing several times while the physicality escalates. What was said to be a traffic stop due to a failure to signal a lane change turned into an arrest for being noncompliant.

Bland’s death has been ruled a suicide up to this point, but her death is being investigated. The officer has been placed on administrative leave.
