Obama: No ‘Specific and Credible’ Holiday Threat

President Barack Obama insisted in mid-December that Americans should feel safe inside their own country, declaring the states free from “specific and credible” threats to the homeland.

Continuing a week-long push to underscore his command on national security dangers, Obama said he understood why there may be some unease right now, referring to the attacks in Paris and the mass shooting that happened in San Bernardino, Calif., but he sought to bolster the country’s peace ahead of the holiday season.

“If you target Americans, you will have no safe haven,” he said at the headquarters of his counterterrorism command center. “We will find you and we will defend our nation.”

Amid heightened fears of an attack on U.S. soil, prompted mostly by the ISIS-inspired California shooting, Obama has made a public show of preparedness.

The holiday season has traditionally brought with it some sort of terrorist threats, but the President is determined for citizens to have a happy and safe holiday.
