Interlogix Introduces New High-Compression H.265 Video Solution

Interlogix, a global leader in security and life-safety solutions, is introducing new powerful video offerings that take advantage of the advanced H.265 video compression standard, requiring less network bandwidth and hard drive space to transmit and store surveillance footage. Interlogix is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

The Interlogix solution – including IP-based cameras, video recorders and updated video management system software – uses the H.265 standard to compress video data, offering the same or better video quality at a lower cost than the still widely used H.264 standard.

"The higher compression rates offered by H.265 will provide significant benefits to end users with less demand on network bandwidth and more efficient storage performance to meet growing demands," said Ed Hamilton, director, product management, video, Americas, Interlogix. "Interlogix intends to be on the forefront of this technology with a full end-to-end solution based on the H.265 standard."

The new Interlogix H.265 product lines will include 15 TruVision® IP cameras with indoor and outdoor domes, as well as box and bullet form factors; the TruVision Network Video Recorder NVR 22 (TVN 22) series of digital video recorders; and updated TruVision Navigator video monitoring software that will support the new standard.

The TruVision H.265 product line will be demonstrated Sept. 12-14 at ASIS International, booth #2700 and will be available in October from Interlogix dealers and distributors throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Interlogix plans on introducing additional H.265-compliant video solutions in 2017.
