Hanwha Techwin America and Genetec Inc. Align to Provide Advanced Transportation Security Solution

Hanwha Techwin America today announced that its SRM-872 mobile NVR now fully integrates with the Genetec™ Security Center 5.5 SR1 unified security platform. The integrated solution allows installation of the Hanwha NVR on trains, buses and other modes of public transportation to enable a more secure and safe environment. The system records on the vehicle as well as on the archiver while connectivity is established. If the connectivity is lost while in transit or away from its station or depot, upon return to the home base, the NVR automatically reconnects, transfers and inserts the recorded data on to the Genetec system for a time corrected playback.

“The safety of passengers and crew has always been a high priority in the transportation industry and now, with this integrated solution, DOTs and other agencies have a new tool in their arsenal,” said Tom Cook, Vice President of Sales, Hanwha Techwin America. “Our technology partnership with Genetec gives us the opportunity to expand the delivery of these kinds of valuable solutions.”

The SRM-872 offers high-quality HD recording with support for H.264 and MJPEG video and can record 64 Mbps throughput for up to eight cameras. It features a removable, heated hard drive and a SD card slot for hard drive backup. Additional design features include a built-in VGA/HDMI output for HD monitor connections and digital sign capabilities. GPS enabled tracking for recorded and live video data, driver status, panic box, remote control, built-in web server, G-Force sensor and two-way audio communication. Options include M12 Back Panel and heat exchanger sleeve for polluted or dusty environments. An optional cellular WI-FI router can be added to enable real-time vehicle video access, location information and emergency communications.

“The Genetec Security Center platform has a proven track record as an effective and flexible open-architecture solution that helps metros, trains, buses and their supporting terminals secure critical assets in the transportation vertical,” said Philippe Ouimette, Director of Strategic Alliances, Genetec Inc. “This strategic alliance with Hanwha Techwin means that security professionals will have extended choice and access to a highly innovative solution that can better protect people and investments. It’s a win-win-win scenario,” added Ouimette.
