MONI Smart Security Hosts 5K Run with Mission 500 for Children in Need

Charity Run Raises More Than $36,000 and Provides 600 Local Elementary Students with Book Bags

MONI Smart Security hosted a highly successful second annual MONI 5K for Children run on October 14, 2017, teaming with Mission 500 as the benefitting charity. The race raised more than $36,000 to help children in need throughout North Texas as well as Houston area children affected by Hurricane Harvey. The day before the race, more than 600 book bags were assembled for local students attending Farmers Branch Elementary School.

“The MONI 5K for Children captures what our organization is all about – bringing the community together to support each other, make an impact for families in need, and have a great time while doing so,” said Jeff Gardner, MONI Smart Security President and Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to continuing our work with Mission 500, expanding our reach through this event for years to come.”

The event held at MONI Smart Security’s headquarters in Farmers Branch, Texas, drew runners from Boston to Dallas, including a special appearance by American running legend Bill Rodgers, four-time winner of both the Boston and NYC Marathons.

Corporate sponsors included Alarm.com (Platinum); Anixter, a Tri-Ed Company and Cyber Group (Gold); Parvidea Solutions, Power Home Technologies, USI Southwest and UTC Fire & Security (Silver); and SMB Suite (Bronze).
