Vicon’s V800D Series of High-Performance, Cost-Effective H.265 Domes Offer Short and Long-Term Savings

Vicon Industries, Inc. designer and manufacturer of video surveillance and access control software, hardware and components, introduces the V800D Series of H.265 indoor domes, including 2 MP and 4MP models. The new camera models are available with a choice of fixed or motorized varifocal autoiris lens and include IR illuminators for viewing in all lighting conditions. True Wide Dynamic Range (T-WDR) further improves picture quality by balancing high contrast between bright and dark areas, including difficult-to-see spaces with backlit lighting. Cameras are designed for easy installation and mounting on walls or ceilings.

The V800D Series’ H.265 compression technology significantly reduces file size and conserves bandwidth, providing cost savings in network infrastructure and storage hardware. The cameras also feature Smart Encoding, which adjusts encoding algorithms based upon the amount of motion within a scene, resulting in additional reductions in file size.

“These new 2 MP and 4 MP indoor domes offer customers a cost-effective camera option, from both a lower initial investment cost and in savings-over-time due to their next-generation encoding technology,” said Bret McGowan, Senior V.P., Sales and Marketing.
