Florida ECC is 90th U.S. Municipality to go Live with TMA’s Automated Secure Alarm Protocol

ASAP-to-PSAP service streamlines communication and saves lives

The Monitoring Association is pleased to announce the addition of the 90th municipality to its expanding Automated Secure Alarm Protocol service network. Launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership, TMA’s ASAP is designed to increase the accuracy and efficiency of calls for service from alarm companies to PSAPs.

The Pasco County FL Emergency Services 9-1-1 Communications Center is the 90th ECC in the United States and the 10th ECC in the state of Florida to implement TMA’s ASAP service. Pasco County went live on June 13-14 with Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Securitas, Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Security Central, Protection One, National Monitoring Center, Vivint, Stanley Security, Guardian Protection, Alert 360 and ADS Security. Brinks Home Security and ADT will be brought online at a later date.

“Pasco County Emergency Services 9-1-1 is continually and consistently looking for ways to increase efficiencies and reduce call-processing times,” said Jody Kenyon, technical support manager, Pasco County ECC. “ASAP delivers a method to help us achieve these goals by providing a service that improves efficiencies in the processing of in-progress alarm calls, increasing our ability to reduce response times and provide higher levels of service to the citizens and businesses in Pasco County.”
