We Have Arrived

We Have Arrived

Earlier this year, July, ISC West was an abbreviated tradeshow but seemed to be quite successful in terms of visitors, exhibitors and a trove of new products. We have landed in Orlando and looking forward to more of the same.

Guessing the tradeshow floor will be somewhat smaller than in years past, the fact is, there will not be a dearth of new products. Manufacturers that missed ISC West will be at GSX, so lucky for me, more new products and technology to examine.

Typically, a month or so before each tradeshow, I receive numerous requests to drop by a manufacturer’s booth. There is never enough time to see everyone. I thought this year would be very different in terms of booth visits. Not so much. Requests to visit manufacturers at GSX was at a fevered pitch this year. It is exciting to see the interest.

We are coming in full force, minus one. Our eNews editor, Brent Dirks will not be joining us. That is too bad for us because he is a fireball of energy. Our job is to keep news flowing back to Brent so he can do his job remotely. You will see his handywork each day as he releases a daily electronic newsletter.

You will be able to meet our newest partner, Matt Jones, who is our senior editor, and starting in 2022 will take charge of our Campus Security & Life Safety magazine. The campus security market is huge, and I am certain Matt is up to the challenge. I get to drop back into the full time role of Security Today.

For about 20 years, I have been attending tradeshows and watching the technology improve with cutting-edge solutions. Since the introduction of Security Today to our magazine portfolio, I made tons of friends and able to work with the brightest minds in creating contributed articles. That is why tradeshows are so important to me.

We have arrived and looking forward to another terrific event.
