Smiths Detection Inc., Enters Agreement with Kromek

Smiths Detection has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Kromek Group plc for Smiths Detection to distribute Kromek’s wearable radiation detection and identification solutions to North and South American markets. The agreement aims to expand user access to Kromek’s technology by leveraging Smiths Detection’s regional presence and reputation.

Smiths Detection has a U.S. based headquarters in Edgewood, MD, and will distribute the Kromek engineered and manufactured D3 and D5 series of wearable, highly-sensitive radiation detectors that alarm when radiation is detected and help protect users from exposure to illegal or unsecure radioactive material.

Inder Reddy, president of Smiths Detection Inc. commented, “Smiths Detection is committed to deliver the best security screening solutions to our customers. The agreement with Kromek to distribute wearable radiation detectors, allows Smiths Detection to supply a full range of field-based CBRNe solutions to customers, helping to protect front line defenders and the communities they serve.”
