Only 30 Percent of U.S. Small Businesses Consider Cybersecurity Important Priority to Invest In

Fewer than 30% of small businesses in the United States view cybersecurity as a priority to invest in, according to data from Tech.co.

This is despite a staggering 62% of small US businesses suggesting security breaches are a significant threat to their business growth.

Small US businesses see the following as a priority:

  • Financial software, eg accounting, bill payment
  • Productivity software, eg Google apps or Microsoft Office
  • Customer relationship management application or system

Tech.co Deputy Editor Jack Turner said: “Our research findings should be a real wake up call for small businesses.

“With Cyberattacks on the increase, and ransomware attacks capable of crippling companies financially, not investing in Cybersecurity in order to save a few bucks could prove an incredibly costly decision.”
