Live From GSX: Post-Show Review

Live From GSX: Post-Show Review

This year’s Live From GSX program was a rousing success! Again, we’d like to thank our partners, and IPVideo, for working with us and letting us broadcast their solutions to the industry. You can follow our Live From GSX 2023 page to keep up with post-show developments and announcements. And if you’re interested in working with us in 2024, please don’t hesitate to ask about our Live From programs for ISC West in March or next year’s GSX.

HID offered a preview of its centralized reader management solution, HID Linq, which streamlines the configuration and updating process of physical access systems. Other focus topics included HID’s Mobile Access Solutions, which are explained at length in the HID Mobile Access “Open More” ebook. Specifically, the Employee Badge in Apple Wallet allows authorized users to access secure areas using just their iPhone or Apple Watch. Further information is also detailed in the HID ebook “The Power of Employee Badge in Apple Wallet.”

Likewise, innovations in card personalization were on display via live demonstrations of the HID FARGO Connect, which reduces card waste and costs; the HID ELEMENT UV Inkjet; and the HDP6600 re-transfer card printing solution. More information about card printing and security is available through a recent Spaces4Learning webinar, “Campus Security: Transformative Secure Card Strategies.”

On the IPVideo side, the biggest pieces of news were further developments and expansions to the HALO 3C Smart Sensor, which can monitor for vaping, THC, air quality, and more. The HALO Cloud App delivers real-time sensor data straight to authorized users’ mobile device of choice. Users can also customize push alerts to receive immediate notifications regarding potential emergencies within their purview. The company also announced a new ten-year product warranty for HALO 3C Cloud customers who purchase a ten-year cloud license, effective as of Sept. 1, 2023.

“Our continued goal is to provide organizations with solutions that keep those in charge aware and better prepared for situations and emergencies of all types, even those on the go,” said David Antar, president at IPVideo Corporation. “We are excited to share our new HALO Cloud App with GSX attendees and are pleased to announce our new 10-year warranty for HALO 3C Cloud users who purchase a 10-year cloud license and provide organizations with an even greater return on investment.”

IPVideo also displayed its Sentry ERS Lockdown & Emergency Response System, which allows teachers to communicate with first responders via live video and audio. The device consists of a base unit with a lockdown button, as well as a Sentry ERS QuickCom whose optional cellular capabilities allow it to be used on the go (in cases like field trips). Finally, the ViewScan Concealed Weapons Detection and Loss Prevention System can detect non-ferrous weaponry and theft items however they may be concealed. The ViewScan is a passive system that does not emit radiation and is safe for any users who pass through it, according to a news release.

One last time, thanks to HID and IPVideo for their partnership—and thanks to all of our readers for living vicariously through us in Dallas. For everyone who did attend, we hope your show was as productive as ours and hope your travels home were safe and uneventful. We’ll see you next year!
