New Chief Operating Officer Joins Security Industry Association

The former Hydrocephalus Association executive will lead strategic operations and internal functions for the industry trade group.

The SIA has named Amanda Garzon as its new chief operating officer.

In her new role, Garzon will manage the association’s strategic execution and daily operations. Her responsibilities include aligning internal functions and overseeing the delivery of various programs and initiatives for the organization’s membership.

Garzon joins the association with an executive background in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. She previously served as the chief operating officer of the Hydrocephalus Association. During her tenure there, she managed organizational growth and led the development of HydroAssist, a mobile application designed for medical treatment management.

Her professional accolades include being named one of the Top 20 Advocacy Professionals by the Advocacy Association in 2025. She is also a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Alumni Association and was formerly a Woodrow Wilson School Graduate Fellow at Princeton University.

The association also announced several other additions to its professional staff. Briana Jeter joined the organization as senior manager of marketing and events, Courtney Kay as manager of industry relations and Nicholas Matzerath as coordinator of member services.

The SIA represents several hundred security solutions providers and serves as a primary resource for industry advocacy, standards and education.
