Hytera System Expands Security Communications Nationwide

Imperial Events Security Services transitions from analog to digital and cellular platforms to support nationwide growth.

Imperial Events Security Services has overhauled its communications infrastructure to support its transition from a local venue operations provider into a national security management firm.

Originally established to provide security at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, the company initially relied on legacy analog radios. Facing operational hurdles caused by frequent equipment replacements, the firm began migrating to Hytera US Inc. hardware in 2010 to stabilize its daily operations.

As the company’s responsibilities expanded to encompass the entire multi-block Philadelphia convention facility, it transitioned to Digital Mobile Radio technology. The security firm integrated a digital repeater system to extend signal coverage across the property, which improved audio clarity and team coordination.

The company subsequently expanded its footprint to manage regional festivals and out-of-state events. To maintain communications in temporary outdoor environments lacking permanent infrastructure, the firm deployed portable repeaters.

Recent national expansion required a shift toward long-range capabilities for cross-country operations. To connect traveling leadership teams with local personnel, the firm adopted Push-to-Talk over Cellular devices, which utilize commercial LTE networks to bypass traditional line-of-sight range restrictions.

To unify the disparate platforms, the organization implemented a bridging system that links the nationwide cellular devices with the localized digital radios in Pennsylvania. The integration allows dispatchers at the Philadelphia security operations center to monitor regional radio traffic and communicate with field teams across the country in real time.

The hybrid network currently integrates legacy analog units, digital radios, repeaters and cellular devices into a single platform, allowing the firm to scale its capabilities without replacing existing hardware.
