Digital Watchdog and barox have released an integration that allows DW Spectrum IPVMS users to monitor and troubleshoot video network infrastructure within the video management system.
Developed by barox, the plugin links DW Spectrum to Device Management System software embedded in barox Ethernet switches. Operators can use one interface to manage cameras, video streams and the network equipment supporting them.
The integration works with barox RY-series switches and provides network topology and physical views for investigating connectivity problems. Operators can examine cameras, switches and their connections to locate potential faults.
When a camera or network device becomes unresponsive, users can initiate a remote reboot through the switch and can interrupt Power over Ethernet to trigger a reboot remotely or automatically.
The companies said these functions are intended to simplify troubleshooting and reduce service visits for problems that can be resolved remotely. The plugin does not require a license.
DW Spectrum runs on Windows, Linux and macOS, with mobile applications for iOS and Android. It supports installations ranging from individual sites to distributed enterprise systems.
