The iDLMax from MaxID has an on-board smart card, a barcode, a fingerprint and passport reader, a digital camera and GPS and wireless communication. The digital camera takes FIPS-2010-compliant facial images, even under low light levels. The device has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. Its high-impact ABS plastic case is shock tested and designed to withstand water and dust. An integrated 40-key QWERTY keyboard has several programmable function keys.

Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
