Seagate's SV35.5 series of hard drives is designed for digital video surveillance systems. It has performance-tuned 140 MBps sustained sequential data rates and ATA-7 streaming commands for high-speed transfers. The drive has enhanced caching capabilities and built-in error recovery for non-stop streaming, thermal monitoring and reporting, user-selectable partitioning, low spin-up power and low acoustics. Disk capacities range from 250 GB to 1 TB.

Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
