Robert Carnes is the Global Corporate Security Manager for the Huntsman Corporation, where he develops and maintains the company's physical security, regulatory compliance (including CFATS), travel security, and corporate crisis programs. He has experience in corporate security, emergency response, and investigations. Prior to joining Huntsman in 2021, he spent five years with LyondellBasell as both a Regional Security Advisor and leading physical security operations for their largest facility located in Channelview, Texas. Prior to his tenure with petrochemical organizations, he spent two years as a Security Specialist with FedEx.
Robert began his career with the Houston Fire Department in 1994 as a firefighter/paramedic rising through the ranks before retiring with 25 years of service as a Senior Investigator in the City of Houston Arson Investigation Division. Throughout his career in public service, he obtained multiple certifications in fire, hazardous materials, emergency medical services, and law enforcement.
