The IT Leader's MDR Reality Check: Build, Buy, or Get Left Behind

Date: Thursday, May 14 at 11am PT / 2pm ET

The threat landscape has fundamentally changed — ransomware executes in minutes, AI-powered attacks adapt in real time, and the attack surface now extends well beyond the endpoint to email, user identities, and cloud applications. Yet most IT teams still rely on alerting tools that no one has bandwidth to monitor 24/7. An alert that goes unread is no different from having no protection at all. In this session, ThreatDown's Matt Sherman, Director of Managed Detection & Response (MDR), delivers a practical reality check for IT leaders on what modern threat monitoring actually requires — and whether building it in-house is worth the cost.

You'll walk away understanding:

  • Why endpoint-only protection strategies no longer hold up in a cloud-first, remote-work world
  • How ransomware and AI-driven attacks have compressed response windows from hours to minutes
  • What it really takes to build in-house security operations — SIEM, SOAR, and round-the-clock staffing
  • Why identity and cloud account monitoring are now just as critical as endpoint detection
  • How an MDR service closes the gap between alerts firing and someone actually acting on them

Who should attend: IT Directors, CISOs, VPs of IT, and security leaders evaluating whether their detection and response capabilities can keep pace with today's threats.
