TAC To Become Schneider Electric In October

TAC, a provider of building automation and security solutions, will change its name and logo and fully become Schneider Electric in October 2009. Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has been the parent company of TAC since 2003. Under a single brand, Schneider Electric offers customers a full range of energy management solutions that help customers make the most of their energy and achieve more while using less of the common planet.

TAC will be a foundational cornerstone within Schneider Electric focusing on energy management and security for buildings. The new role recognizes TAC's expertise in the energy, security and solutions arena. This expertise complements Schneider Electric's integrated solutions, which are designed to make energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green from Plant to Plug™.

TAC's transition to Schneider Electric is part of a global companywide initiative. The migration to one company under Schneider Electric will offer customers increased access to a wider range of integrated solutions. These current solutions address 72 percent of the world's energy consumption in energy and infrastructure, industrial processes, building systems and services, and data centers/networks, as well as in residential applications.

"This is more than just a name change; this is a new way of approaching our business and our customers' needs at a time when financial and natural resources are increasingly scarce," said Chris Curtis, president and CEO of TAC. "Schneider Electric's new organization will enable the company to take multiple solutions from our comprehensive offer portfolio through one seamless customer interface to become a single-source energy management provider. Most importantly, the people our customers work with today will be the same people they will work with when TAC becomes Schneider Electric."
