Time To Renew Friendships At ASIS

I hope the economy hasn’t pinched travel and exhibition of the newest products in the security industry. ASIS is just around the corner, and every year it seems this tradeshow grows in size and scope.
The economy might take its toll this year. I’m anxious to visit as many booths and events as possible, adding more miles to an already well-worn pair of shoes.
My schedule of appointments is full. How about yours?
Security Products magazine staff will be doing something a bit difference this year. We’re loading up a digital video camera and will be conducting a few interviews about new products and strategies for 2010. We also will be announcing the winners of our first-ever New Product of the Year award. That announcement comes next Tuesday.
Our NPOY contest was very exciting for us, with 64 entries in seven categories. We also expect next year’s contest to grow in size and be even more competitive. After all, ASIS will be in Dallas next year. Everything is bigger in Texas.
Next week in Anaheim, ASIS kicks off its 55th annual event.
In this economy, making the most of available resources is more important than ever before. Top executives attend ASIS, and it’s a great place to learn about new products and services along with spending time with potential solutions partners. According to ASIS, 54 percent of last year’s attendees do not attend any other tradeshow.
Attending ASIS means you have a chance to visit 850 exhibiting companies and learn about innovative technologies, products and services.. ASIS has it all -- access control to cameras, identification cards to weapons detection.
If you have a question about Security Products magazine, grab me as I race through the Anaheim Convention Center, or reach out to a member of the magazine staff. We’re looking forward to the show and anxious to meet as many of you as possible.
