HID Global Launches Services for Developers

HID Global is providing its customers a set of modular service options designed to streamline the engagement process and make it easier to leverage the company's embedded technologies and industry expertise, reduce development costs, and accelerate the product integration, test and certification process.

Developers can immediately engage with the company using the service package that best meets their needs, at a fixed price and with standardized legal terms.

Options include:

  • Standard Services, which include technical and help-desk support, return merchandise authorization and training through the HID Academy;
  • Professional Services, which builds onto the standard option with integration, design-in, testing and certification services, plus individual access to development specialists. .
  • VIP Services adds priority response for all service requests. A member of the development team is assigned as a dedicated contact person for all questions regarding technical issues.

“Developers using HID’s embedded technologies are a key link in the end-to-end, Genuine HID™ value chain spanning product development, marketing and support,” said Selva Selvaratnam, Ph.D., senior vice president and chief technology officer. “We have pioneered an innovative services offering that anticipates developer needs and gives them a quick path to all of the support they need in order to speed reliable, high-quality, fully certified products to market.”

The predefined service packages initially focus on e-government applications (such as passport and ID terminals, plus readers and airport check-in kiosks), and cashless payment applications (including automatic fare collection and ticketing systems, payment kiosks, point-of-sale and handheld terminals, ATMs, and vending machines).
