SentryBay Signs Global OEM Agreement with Mobile Active Defense

SentryBay has signed a new OEM agreement with smartphone security company Mobile Active Defense to develop jointly its new consumer mobile security product. Under the terms of the new agreement Mobile Active Defense and SentryBay will apply its award-winning enterprise-level smartphone security software to its secure browsing technology on iPhones, iPads, Nokia/Symbian, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Google Android phones.

Available through selected value-added resellers and distribution partners, SentryBay's Mobile Security product will be aimed at consumers protecting their identity and data when communicating via smartphone or tablet. It will also be suitable for retail banks to provide their customers with the ability to carry out mobile transactions securely, offering added-value security, including remote lock/wipe, anti-malware, anti-spam and content filtering. The new product will be on sale in the United States and the United Kingdom beginning in April 2011.

Dan Ashby, CEO of M.A.D. Partners LLC, said: "SentryBay's solution prevents malware from harvesting personal data while users are communicating via smartphone or tablet. With the addition of M.A.D.'s powerful anti-malware, content-filtering and remote wipe capabilities, consumers can finally achieve a much safer online experience."

Dave Waterson, CEO of SentryBay, said: "By collaborating with Mobile Active Defense, we have created the optimal solution to protect consumers and their identities on the widest range of platforms, including smartphones and tablets. The timing of this announcement is excellent, as one of the hottest topics at this year's RSA USA is mobile security. Working with Mobile Active Defense, we can make enterprise-level software for smartphones available to individual users."
