Kix Brooks Appointed 2012 ESX Keynote Speaker
At the co-located ESI Forum and ESA Leadership Summit events, ESX Chair George De Marco announced that Kix Brooks of the country duo Brooks and Dunn will be the Keynote Speaker at the 2012 Electronic Security Expo taking place on June 25-29 in Nashville, Tenn.
ESA and CSAA, ESX, the education and networking event for security integration and monitoring companies announced the keynote speaker with a honky-tonkin’ line dance flash mob, including audience members John Knox of Knox Integrated Security, Howard Sanders of ESA, Todd Gaito of Wayne Alarm and Gerrit Brusse of U.S.A.
Kix Brooks will address the ESX crowd on June 27 at 11:45 a.m. at the Nashville Convention Center.
“We’re thrilled that Kix Brooks of Brooks and Dunn, one of the most celebrated country music bands in the history of country music, is our 2012 ESX Keynote Speaker,” says George De Marco, ESX Chair. “Over the past few years, we’ve had some iconic sports names, but we’re in the Music City this year and as they say…‘when in Rome.’”
The duo, responsible for more than 20 number one hits like “Neon Moon,” “My Maria,” “Red Dirt Road” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” has sold more than 30 million albums and has won more than 80 major industry awards.
They hold the record for number of awards won at both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association (CMA) and continue to be a driving force in the country music industry.
Brooks, who now spends his time as host of the American Country Countdown, an internationally syndicated radio program that counts down the top 40 country songs each week, has served as the President and as the Chairman of the Country Music Association (CMA).
He has a rich philanthropic background, including a dedication to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and has shown a long-term commitment to our men and women in uniform. It wasn’t long ago that he shipped out to the Persian Gulf to perform for service men and women.
Brooks is co-owner of Arrington Vineyards, located 25 minutes south of Nashville.
An impressive week of activities is currently being orchestrated for ESX Nashville. For more information and to join the mailing list to receive updates on the show, visit www.ESXweb.com.
