Moment of Truth

By now your plans are already made, reservations secure and you are ready to head off to Las Vegas for the 2012 version of ISC West. From all indications, it promises to be the best security tradeshow the SIA has put on in years.

There is no question that Security Products is a product-focused magazine, and one of the events that intrigues me is the New Product Showcase. A new addition to this annual competition is the winners’ forum. Titled: Bringing Innovation to the Forefront, SIA will present the winners of the showcase on Thursday morning from 9 to 10 a.m.

The NPS program recognizes outstanding contributions to the protection of life and property in residential, commercial and institutional settings. The SIA New Product Showcase Winners’ Forum is open to everyone attending the tradeshow.

The tradeshow also features the ISC Premier Education Series. The series is a top industry resource for security and network training and education with a curriculum developed in partnership with the industry through our ISC Education Advisory Board. The board is comprised of security professionals from all segments of the industry: visionary manufacturers, end users -- including law enforcement and campus security -- integrators and education experts.

The 2012 program provides 3 full-days of education. Packages are available for one day, two days or all three days of sessions. New this year, courses are labeled by level, so you can select introductory, advanced or intermediate classes, based on your needs.

Last, and certainly not least, there is the question of who is exhibiting? There are more than 950 exhibitors, who have prepared to give you as much information as needed, or as much as you could possibly want.

If you have the opportunity to swing by the Security Products booth (No. 11144), we would love to stop and visit with you about the state of the industry. I’m looking forward to three days of a enthusiasm and collaboration among the security industry. Grab me on the show floor and let’s chat.
