KBC Introduces New Wireless Mesh Product

KBC Networks, manufacturer of industrial transmission equipment for security, industrial control and transport networks is launching its new mesh product, MeshII, at the ISC West trade show.

Following last summer’s successful introduction of its new generation, WESII Wireless Ethernet System, the latest addition to the KBC wireless range is a dual radio, redundant mesh networking product that operates in the license-free 5GHz band.

The units allow redundant wireless mesh networks to be established by connecting multiple nodes to one another in a ring configuration. Auxiliary links are set up for automatic backup should an active link fail, without the risk of bridge loops, or the need to manually enable or disable the backup path.

MeshII supports IEEE 802.3af, providing up to 23dBm output power, and is 802.11n and ETSI DFS & TPC compliant. With MIMO (Multiple In Multiple Out) and HT (High Throughput) technologies, a data throughput of up to 100Mbps is achievable. The units feature remote management and distance adjustment for long range transmission, and WPA2 with AES or TKIP encryption prevents unauthorized access to the system. The MeshII products have wide operating temperature ranges and weatherproof casings which are designed for wall- or pole-mounting.

Dwayne Smith, Technical Director, KBC Networks commented on the new products “MeshII is the next step in our new generation of wireless products; it will offer our customers the opportunity to build secure and reliable redundancy into their wireless systems. And with the design team already working on new products, we plan to continue expanding our wireless range this year.”

The new wireless products will accompany the WESII wireless products on KBC Networks’ booth 17125 at ISC West along with the transmission company’s IP transmission ranges -- including the KBC PoE series, its fiber optic range and the HD digital video broadcast range.
