AMAG Technology Supports Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles

AMAG Technology allocated August 22 to help Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles build homes in the LA community.  In addition to the company’s generous financial donation, all office employees invested a full day and worked together to help finish two homes in Lynwood, California.  AMAG Technology is an access control, IP video and intrusion management (IDS) solution provider.

“AMAG is firmly committed to our social responsibility, and this year, we are partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles both on a financial and volunteer level,” said Bob Sawyer, President and CEO, AMAG Technology.  “AMAG is honored to be part of Habitat for Humanity’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program to give something back to the community, and I believe it will prove a strong team building event, united around a great cause.”

Los Angeles is one of the most expensive housing markets in the United States, and Habitat for Humanity is one of the few affordable home ownership programs that assists low-income families.  The high cost of home ownership and overcrowding remain the most serious challenges faced by low-income residents.  By working with volunteers, donors and corporations like AMAG Technology, Habitat for Humanity works to alleviate these challenges and make homeownership possible for low-income, hardworking families.  AMAG is proud to be part of Habitat for Humanity's mission to provide affordable housing to deserving families.

Habitat for Humanity homes are sold to partner families and individuals at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. Habitat for Humanity provides a hand-up, not a hand-out. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, partner homeowners invest up to 500 hours of labor -- called sweat equity -- into building their home and the homes of others.

Habitat for Humanity has built more than 500,000 homes around the world, providing more than 2 million people in more than 3,000 communities with simple, sustainable and affordable shelter.
