EverFocus Focuses on High Definition at Security Essen

The new NevioHD series of 1.3, 2.0 and 3.0 megapixel cameras targets the dynamic demands of the modern surveillance market, and encompasses advanced box, bullet, dome and speed dome cameras for a wide range of applications.

All NevioHD cameras support popular features such as H.264 and MJPEG compression formats, built-in support for SDHC cards for optional event recording, as well as Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3af) compatibility for cost-saving installation. Both the EZN bullet and the EHN dome cameras are designed for rigorous operating conditions, and feature an IP66 rated weatherproof housing, as well as up to 40M IR LEDs for extreme low-light applications.

The NevioHD models also feature Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) functionality, enhancing the ability to deliver clear images even in conditions of extreme illumination intensity differences, such as strong backlighting. In addition to WDR, both EDN and EHN indoor/outdoor domes offer P-IRIS capabilities.

These cameras are designed to integrate tightly with a wide variety of EverFocus systems and are ONVIF / PSIA compliant for compatibility with a wide range of network video products from other manufacturers.

The Nevio Recording Solutions include the Mini NVRs, the ENR series with enhanced features such as Trybrid functionality, and the Network Video Recorder “Commander”, supporting up to 64 x 5 MP network cameras.

The next generation of HDcctv / HD-SDI – Video over Coax – products incorporates box, bullet and indoor/outdoor dome models as well as the new EPHD-04. With 4 BNC video inputs for coaxial connections, this 4-channel Full HDcctv / HD-SDI Digital Video Recorder offers 1080p resolution real-time recording using H.264 compression.

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. The first network camera, launched in 1996, delivered one frame every 17 seconds—not impressive by today’s standards, but groundbreaking at the time. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
