Apriva Vice President Bill Ramsey to Discuss Merits of Cloud and NFC Based Technology

Apriva Vice President Bill Ramsey to Discuss Merits of Cloud and NFC Based TechnologyApriva, a provider of end-to-end wireless transactions, gateway services, and secure information solutions, announced that Bill Ramsey, the company’s vice president and general manager of mobile payments, will participate in a discussion on mobile wallet technology at the 2013 ETA Annual Meeting and Expo. The event is set for April 30 through May 2 at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Ramsey’s session, “NFC vs. Cloud: The Best Method to Engage Customers and Increase Sales,” is scheduled for Thursday, May 2 at 11:15 am.

Moderated by Mercator Advisory Group’s senior analyst Dave Kaminsky, the session will provide attendees with insight into the technology and business nuances of both cloud- and NFC-based mobile wallets. As part of the conversation, Ramsey will discuss how cloud-based solutions can be utilized by merchant services providers to offer their merchants a flexible, secure and robust mobile commerce experience. Among the subjects he will touch upon include the integration of payments with other value-added services, such as mobile marketing, loyalty, authentication and fulfillment services, branding options and the ability to satisfy emerging credit card security mandates, such as EMV.

“We are delighted that Bill has been selected by the ETA organizers to help explain the technical and commercial realities of NFC- and cloud-based mobile wallets,” said Stacey Finley Tappin, Apriva’s vice president for sales and marketing. “With the explosive growth of mobile phones and tablets, many merchant acquirers and independent sales agents are taking a careful look to see how they can better serve their merchants through a mobile environment. This session should give them a better understanding of how these technologies can help them offer new value-add services that generate more revenue and enhance merchant satisfaction.”

In addition to the session, Apriva will exhibit its full complement of point-of-sale (POS), mobile solutions and unattended payments solutions at ETA 2013. Highlighting Apriva’s participation will be the unveiling of the new Apriva POS Universal Application that allows merchant services providers to update disparate dial, IP and wireless POS terminals automatically and uniformly. In addition, Apriva will showcase its new AprivaPay Plus point-of-sale solution. Compatible with iOS and Android devices, AprivaPay Plus enables small businesses to accept credit and debit card payments, track card and cash sales, manage inventory, and deliver superior customer service—right from the mobile device. Apriva will be located at booth #716 throughout the exhibition.
