KJB Security Products Introduces Xtreme Life Wireless Surveillance Devices

KJB Security Products, a Nashville, Tenn.-based wholesale manufacturer and distributor of security and surveillance products, has expanded its Xtreme Life line of devices under their SleuthGear® brand to include several wireless models.

Xtreme Life hidden cameras are equipped with PIR heat sensors that conserve battery life by activating only when body heat is detected and feature a fast, two-second start up time. The PIR capability has also been added to some of the company’s stand-alone DVR models. Long life batteries come standard in all Xtreme Life devices and are compatible with all SleuthGear® QUAD and QUAD LCD wireless models.

Xtreme Life Wireless devices have no conspicuous wires, allowing users to install and monitor anywhere. Users may choose to record remotely or onto a removable SD card. In addition, the video may be viewed remotely from an iPad or smart phone using the free EZ-See app.

“With our entire SleuthGear® line, we strive to create the most covert, hidden cameras possible that are also simple to install and monitor,” said KJB Security Products’ CEO Jill Johnston. “Following the introduction of our QUAD capabilities, the Xtreme Life wireless line was the next step in our product evolution.”

As with all SleuthGear® products, the Xtreme Life devices are designed with the belief that proper surveillance should allow you to install it, trust it and forget about it. Models include common household and business items such as wall clocks, smoke detectors, teddy bears and landscape stones.

Products include:

Xtreme Life Landscape Stone QUAD LCD (Item Number: SC7010)

Xtreme Life Teddy Bear QUAD LCD (Item Number: SC7012)

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
