Bosch Showcases Advantages With Intelligent Devices

At ISC West 2014 in Las Vegas, Bosch will demonstrate how the technology embedded in its intelligent products delivers significant benefits to dealers and end users alike. Bosch products provide enhanced security and maximum flexibility at a highly-competitive total cost of ownership. This gives integrators advantages over their competitors with new opportunities to grow sales and increase profits.

"We invest heavily in research and development to create intelligent technologies that solve common industry problems," said Jeremy Hockham, President of Sales – North America, Bosch Security Systems, Inc. "As a result, we're achieving significantly lower bit rates for high quality images, delivering video in challenging lighting where other cameras fail, offering unique intrusion and IP video integration that protects dealers' recurring monthly revenue streams, and much more. Other manufacturers make similar claims, but when prospective customers see our technology in action, the benefits that Bosch deliver become clear. And Bosch becomes first choice."

Highest quality video images at low total system costs In the area of video surveillance, Bosch will show how its IP cameras deliver the highest quality of relevant images while lowering bandwidth and storage requirements by up to 50 percent. When there is little or no movement in the scene, less bit rate is required. Therefore, intelligent Dynamic Image Noise Reduction actively analyses the scene to distinguish between important moving objects and image noise artifacts. The degree of image noise reduction is adjusted accordingly to capture important objects while suppressing image noise artifacts, optimizing bit rates. This unique technology gives integrators a powerful edge: the ability to address security staff requirements for crisp, detailed video while answering IT concerns with very low network strain and reduced storage costs. This differentiator will become increasingly important for customers as the industry moves toward the next generation of imaging: 4K ultra HD resolution with even higher data volumes and therefore higher bandwidth and storage requirements.

At ISC West, Bosch will demonstrate its first camera available that delivers 4K ultra HD resolution for enhanced safety and security. Users will benefit from superior identification capabilities during live viewing and in retrospective analysis, even when moving objects and challenging lighting pervade the scene. The DINION IP ultra 8000 MP from Bosch makes 4K ultra HD relevant for video surveillance, displaying every detail while reducing bit rates, network strain and storage costs.

In addition, Bosch will show its starlight HD cameras, which capture video in dimly-lit scenes where other cameras fail and provide color images when others switch to monochrome. Even at night, users benefit by seeing details such as color of clothing or vehicles, which aid in the identification of people and objects and can reduce costs associated with added illumination. Already available in the popular DINION and FLEXIDOME families of 720p fixed cameras, Bosch will preview a five megapixel camera with starlight technology. All starlight cameras deliver superior light sensitivity, wide dynamic range, high resolution and the ability to capture fast moving objects, making them the ideal solution for round-the-clock video surveillance.

Bosch will also exhibit Dynamic Transcoding technology for smooth live video streaming and HD image playback within limited network connections. By simply adding a transcoder or storage solution from Bosch, integrators can give customers the ability to view HD images on iOS mobile devices or remote PCs with outstanding image quality. Combined with the Bosch Video Security app, users gain a unique solution for full access and control of their HD cameras from anywhere at any time.

And, for an intuitive and affordable IP video recording solution, Bosch will demonstrate the enhanced DIVAR IP 2000 storage appliance, which requires no training or certification to set up the system. True plug-and-play operation and a streamlined wizard reduce installation time by nearly half. Technicians benefit from the ability to configure camera parameters and remotely adjust focus settings right from the appliance's web interface, whether they're accessing it from a desktop, tablet or smart phone – providing maximum flexibility.

These smart IP video technologies combined with a comprehensive Intelligent Video Analysis package are available whether customers choose a complete system from Bosch or want to integrate with solutions from other providers. Bosch will show live integrations with software platforms from Genetec, Lenel, Milestone Systems, Proximex and more as part of its Integration Partner Program.

Intelligent intrusion detection with IP camera integration B Series Control Panels from Bosch are modern Internet appliances with built-in IP communication and a free app for mobile operation. They are compatible with both IPv4 and IPv6 and feature DNS support for remote access and central station communications to simplify installation and disaster recovery. And, at ISC West, Bosch will introduce IP camera integration for its B Series intrusion control panels. This allows video motion detection to activate points on the panel, and panel events to trigger camera actions, including sending video clips via e-mail. Users gain an easy path toward video alarm verification. The unique approach to the integration ensures that a separate server or cloud-based service is not required, eliminating failure points, improving data security and privacy, and reducing overall system cost.

In addition, Bosch will introduce several new intrusion peripherals for the B Series that simplify operation and improve installation efficiency, including a color graphic touch screen keypad with a simple icon-based user interface. The B942 keypad features a presence detector that automatically turns the display on when the user approaches and a proximity reader to allow the user to substitute a card or token for a passcode. In addition, a unique new keypad with capacitive touch technology and an expanded wireless line – including panic buttons, glass break detectors and smoke detectors – will be on display.

To provide simple support for its Remote Security Control app, Bosch will also introduce cloud-based services that provide customers the option to control their Bosch control panels from their smart phone without the need for special configuration of their home network.

Bosch panels provide more than just security. With new programming features that allow users to monitor perimeter doors and critical areas like safes and vaults during the day, plus automated control for ATM service areas, Bosch panels provide added value for end users and installers.

To address the emerging smart home market, Bosch will highlight a new home automation interface for its control panels that extends the security systems to add lighting, door lock and environmental controls. The company will also introduce four new motion detectors: PIR and TriTech PIR/microwave detectors with ZigBee and Z-Wave wireless connectivity (Z-Wave and ZigBee are wireless technologies that enable home automation). Now, customers who use these technologies as part of their security and smart home portfolio can benefit from the superior performance and ease of installation of Bosch motion detectors. Both detectors include Bosch pet friendly technology.
